Things in life come with natural consequences. If you break a plate, you have to clean it up and replace it. If you sleep in, you have fewer hours to do your work or enjoy your free time. If you don’t do your laundry, you don’t have clean clothes.
That’s it! Those are the consequences. You don’t need to punish yourself for things that you’ve already faced the ramifications for. What’s the purpose?
I tend to beat myself up over things like being late, not getting chores done (even though [[{7.5} care tasks are functional and morally neutral]]), or not using my time wisely in general. But why? I’m not in trouble, I haven’t hurt anyone, and I’m not doing anything *wrong*. There just might be some natural consequences I have to deal with. No need to make it deeper than that.
