identity graphs are often used by businesses for digital marketing or data management, but you can [create your own](https://jennymackness.wordpress.com/2018/11/15/e-learning-3-0-identity-graphs/) with nodes of traits, experiences, projects, hobbies, and so on.
but what if your identity graph was made up of all the *stuff* – the [[{1.1c3a} stability is connection to, while recovery is reorientation toward, one's location in time and space|{1.1a1c} 🌲 life context]] – you collect over time?
i’m thinking of something similar to the “knowledge graph” in tools like #obsidian, but built to be far more encompassing and to help you identify links, trends, and patterns.
and what if you could “rotate” that graph to see a timeline on the bottom of when different items were added?
during my #capacities onboarding, their three pillars of note-taking included that “**everything should be connected to time**”. mind-blowing moment for me in how concisely this communicated that time is the only constant, in that everything we do / say / think exists in a unique location of it for a generally distinct measure of it. [[Lehr, Julian - 2023 - Multi-layered calendars|julian lehr]] and [[PKMBeth, 'The Two Biggest Influences on my Current PKM Practices'. 2023-12-12.|beth]] talk about similar ideas.
a timeline is – or should be – just another way to view a collection.
essentially: i’d like some sort of tool or program that would allow me to see the vast amount of data i’ve collected in a graph database that i can zoom into and out of, and which can be viewed on a(n also zoomable) timeline.
extremely rudimentary mockup of what i mean:

the same way bidirectionally linked nodes help me combine different ideas about the world ([[{5.1a} idea sex]]), i suspect a similar set up with life notes / data / context / ephemera would help me make connections about myself.
i’ve been working on implementing this in my vault for about a year with marginal success ([[2025-01-28 becoming a morning person - in defense of tinkering with your tools]]).
