- Time-binding, a term introduced by [[Korzybski, Alfred]], refers to the ability of one generation to pick up where the last generation left off.
- I’d never thought about this until reading [[Dickinson, Jonathan. 'The Dance of Time and Space'. The Rubin. 2024.|this article]], but of course! This is so interesting.
- Fire was developed in one generation, tools in a later generation, until eventually we get to space travel and AI. This is distinctly humans. Maybe this is part of what makes us human.
- [[2024-09-07]] — Want to clarify that I think what makes it distinctly human is the *progress*. Or *productivity* of it all.
- [[2025-02-24]] – don’t think the above is true; this also refers to knowledge and culture, tools and productivity are only one element.
- Still need to research this, but it reminds me of [[One Hour One Life]].
