- Even when using tags and / or links, your objects still need a home. - There is functionally no difference between keeping all objects in one home or keeping them across multiple homes *if* they are still tagged and linked. - Tags and links can help me find my objects, but so can navigating my system manually, which I often [[people prefer to navigate file systems manually|prefer]]. - In other words, tags and links can and (IMO) *should* be used *in addition to* folder-based object management. - This helps cover all of types of system navigation without giving up the added functionality of keeping your system digital. - [[2025-01-31]] i feel less strongly about this these days. i still believe that tagging / linking aren’t *alternatives*, but i don’t believe as strongly that folders are necessary.
