I’m reading [[Klein, Naomi - 2023 - Doppelganger]] and just read this in a chapter about the wellness industry:
>Many of us lead dangerously sedentary lives; our work demands it. Chances are that moving our bodies in whatever free time we have will make us healthier and feel better. Food prepared with fresh ingredients is more nourishing than fast food picked up on the fly… **Everyone should have access to those kinds of options wherever the live, along with the time and resources to take advantage of them, which is far from the case today.**
It reminded me of an argument I head a while ago – that people are not “entitled”, only expecting that a human society will work for the humans within it. If you do your part by participating in your community and in the economy, the expectation is that those things will take care of you. Or, at the very least, that these things won’t make your life *harder*.
